When you create DWF
files, you can specify how fonts are handled and included in the
DWF6 file.
By default, font handling
is set to Capture Some in the DWF6 ePlot Properties dialog box;
you can specify which fonts are eligible for capture in your DWF file.
This is the recommended option.
NoteDWF file size can
be affected by the font-handling settings as well as by the amount
of text and the number and type of fonts used in the DWF file. If
the size of your DWF file seems too large, try changing the font-handling
settings.
To specify font handling
for the DWF file
- In the Printer/Plotter area, in the Name
list, select a DWF plotting device. Click Properties.
- In the Plotter Configuration Editor,
Device and Document Settings tab, select Custom Properties from
the tree window.
- In the Access Custom Dialog area, click
Custom Properties.
- In the DWF6 ePlot Properties dialog box,
in the Font Handling area, select a font capture option. Click OK.
- In the Plotter Configuration Editor,
click OK.
- In the Changes to a Printer Configuration
dialog box, do one of the following. Then click OK.
- Select Apply Changes for the Current
Plot Only to specify a one-time override of the configuration settings
that isn't saved to the DWF6 configuration file.
- Select Save Changes to the Following
File to save the configuration changes to the DWF configuration
file.

To edit the list of fonts
eligible for capture in the DWF file
- In the Printer/Plotter area, in the Name
list, select a DWF plotting device. Click Properties.
- In the Plotter Configuration Editor,
Device and Document Settings tab, select Custom Properties from
the tree window.
- In the Access Custom Dialog area, click
Custom Properties.
- In the DWF6 ePlot Properties dialog box,
in the Font Handling area, select Capture Some.
- Select Edit Font List.
NoteCapturing fonts in
the DWF file causes the file size to increase. To minimize file
size, the TrueType fonts that are common to all Microsoft® Windows® platforms
are by default not selected in the list. Even though these fonts
have no check marks beside them, they are shown in the DWF6 file
if you are using a Windows operating system. You should select all
other TrueType fonts that you have installed to ensure that they
are captured for embedding in the DWF6 file. Only the fonts that
are needed are embedded in the file.
- In the Available TrueType Fonts dialog
box, select the fonts that you want to be eligible for capture in
the DWF file. Click OK.
- In the DWF6 ePlot Properties dialog box,
click OK.
- In the Plotter Configuration Editor dialog
box, click OK.
- In the Browse for Plot File dialog box,
in the Save In location list, select a plotting location for the
DWF file, and click Save. Click OK.
